The fans of the hit erotic novel "Fifty Shades of Grey" should also keep in mind that for the upcoming movie adaptation, aside from casting the two major lead characters of Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele, there are also other important characters in the book that will help in making the movie a success.

However, actress Kim Cattrall, the vixen of the hit TV series "Sex and The City" has not quite sink her claws into landing a role in the upcoming movie just yet.

Rumors started to swirl around Kim Cattrall that she may be cast as Elena in the much anticipated movie of the now famous erotic novel. Cattrall portrayed the sexy character of Samantha Jones in the "Sex and The City" TV series and films which could be a reason why she is chosen for the role. However, according to reports, the 55-year old actress publicly stated that she will not portray the said role.

"No one has told me about the casting of Elena, but I thoroughly enjoyed the book," Cattrall stated in an interview with "The Sun." Kim Cattrall may not be portraying the role but she did not mention that she would refuse accepting it if ever she indeed lands the part in the future.

Meanwhile, Cattrall proudly admitted that she is a big fan of the "Fifty Shades of Grey" novels not only for its racy and complex content but also with the positive and encouraging effects that the novel is having on mature women in the United States society.

"We're all adults," the "Sex and the City" actress added. "It's fun. Whatever turns you on. All these women of a certain age are finally having fun, and what's wrong with that?" Cattrall expressed.

The upcoming "Fifty Shades of Grey" film may have been confirmed by Universal Pictures to be having a tandem with the producers of "The Social Network" film. However, neither the studio nor the novel's writer E.L. James have given any statement or comment on when will be the release date of the film in theaters.
