Kim Kardashian Admits Her Selfie Addiction Is Ridiculous
American reality star Kim Kardashian West has made a reputation for herself as the selfie queen of pop culture. A short visit to her Instagram site will reveal thousands upon thousands of selfies and for the first time, Kim admits that she knows about taking so many photos can be ridiculous.
“I love taking pictures and posting them on social media just for memories, Yes, it is ridiculous, but it's all fun." said Kim on her interview with Adweek Magazine. Kim appears on the cover of Adweek’s mobile issue and she talks about her online presence and how she likes to share her life with her fans through social media.
"It's just I'm living my life and sharing a part of my life with the world." explained Kim. By the world, she meant her 27.2 million Instagram followers who can now instantly see every single snapshot that she posts within just a few seconds. Kim also has nearly 30 million twitter followers with whom she shares photos and her daily musings.
Kim believes that sharing one’s life through social media is a great way to share your world because you get to do it your way. Your life is shared through your own lens and your own angles and they are not muddled by other people’s manipulation. Being one of the most photographed celebrities in the world, Kim had her fair share of unpleasant experiences with the paparazzi. Unflattering photos and compromising situations are things that can be avoided if you share and choose your photos yourself.
Other members of the Kardashian Jenner clan are also social media savy. Kim says that she hopes people can see them as a normal family and not just as celebrities. She says that even though they may not seem typical from the TV screen, their family is just like any other. She says that they go through the same situations as other people and they are always there to support each other.
Apart from her social media presence, Kim made it on the cover of Adweek because of the success of her mobile app. “Kim Kardashian Hollywood” reportedly earned USD 74 million since its release in summer 2014. The magazine selected the app as their “Hottest Mobile Game” in their annual Hot List. The game is expected to earn up to USD 200 million this year.
