Kim Kardashian blames Internet trolls on why she no longer smiles in photos
Kim Kardashian took it to heart when Internet trolls criticised her for her weight gain during her first pregnancy in 2013. The reality TV star recently revealed that the backlash and negative media reception made her stop smiling for the cameras.
In her cover interview for the Fall Fashion Issue of C Magazine, Kardashian recalled how the negative media coverage when she was pregnant with North West “changed her personality.” All the reports about her bloat and weight gain because she can’t stop eating reportedly took a toll on her emotionally that she decided to stop putting on a happy face for the paparazzi.
“Before I was always smiling, and so into being out and about. After I had the baby, I was like, these are the same people that made fun of me and posted the stories that were so awful, calling me fat for something I couldn’t control,” Kardashian told C Magazine.
So instead of being “out and about,” the soon-to-be mother of two decided to stop smiling for the same people who criticised her. Kardashian revealed how that experience drastically changed her mood and her personality.
“Even if I was more confident, I just didn’t feel like being that girl who was going to be smiling for every photo,” she added.
The 34-year-old also talked about her first pregnancy and revealed the reason for her weight gain. Kardashian said she had suffered pre-eclampsia when she was pregnant with North West, a condition which caused her to bloat. However, for her second pregnancy, Kardashian feels relieved, knowing she will not get pre-eclampsia again.
Kardashian and her husband Kanye West are anticipating the birth of their second child in four months. It’s believed that they are planning to document the birth of their son through a time-lapse video and has paid a huge sum of £100,000 (over AU$216,000) for a personal camera crew.
A source told Mirror UK that the 34-year-old “Keeping Up With The Kardashians” star is an avid fan of the time-lapse video and has reached out to the same crew who filmed her wedding to Kanye. The couple reportedly also wants to keep a private video of the baby’s birth for their personal viewing.
“It will never air publicly but Kim says she wants a reminder every day of the birth, as this baby may be their last,” the source said in the Mirror UK report.
