Kylie Minogue Mobbed in Australia
Surprising flash mob, loyal fans, and fellow Aussie stars gave Kylie a warm welcome
The Aussie pop princess was greeted by a bunch of loyal fans and a surprising flash mob singing her famous hits during a cocktail party celebrating her Aussie tour.
Celebrities and excited fans welcome Kylie Minogue in a Circular Quay party held at Wildfire restaurant for her Aphrodite: Les Folies Aussie tour which kicked off last Friday in Brisbane. Despite unsatisfactory ticket sales, the $25 million dollar production has proved to be a magnificent spectacle and fans made sure to show their appreciation. A group of singers led by drag queen Joyce Maygne surprised the unsuspecting pop star with her songs; including her hit single I Should Be So Lucky.
Australian stars made sure to pay homage to the famed singer. Television personality Erin McNaught says her favorite Kylie song is Can't Get You out of My Head, as it reminds her of her youthful folly. Cricketer Bret Lee also arrived, saying he's also fond of Minogue's music. Other stars expected to come were Natalie Bassingthwaighte and Sonia Kruger, but didn't show due to prior engagements.
"The sheer madness of staging this tour has been overwhelming, but hopefully it has been translated", says the singer in an interview outside the venue.
The Aphrodite: Les Folies tour will continue tomorrow, June 8, and the next day at the Sydney Entertainment Centre, followed by three shows at Melbourne's Rod Lavern Arena on June 14, 15 and 16. The final leg of the Australian tour will happen on June 18 at Adelaide Entertainment Center, with a last show at Burswood Dome in Perth. The singer will move on to Asia to continue her world tour, kicking off at Bangkok's Impact Arena on June 25.
