Charles Powell, a condom designer, is offering a new design for the male contraceptive. Unlike other new designs which offer mostly new materials, his design trims the rubber sheath by placing a cover only on the glans of the penis (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KOD9VmQK2rs).

The design does away with covering for the shaft, which would likely address some of the male complaints that using the standard condom is like taking a shower with a raincoat.

Powell named his design the Galactic Cap, which promises to bring back the pleasure to sex while preventing pregnancy because only the head of the male organ is covered.

There are two parts of the Galactic Cap. The first is a U-shaped polyurethane adhesive film, which could be applied to the glans hours or even days before sex. Powell assured that it would not be destroyed when it becomes wet due to urine or water while taking a bath.

The second part is the reservoir cap that sticks to the film base already in place. It doesn't cover the whole head but leaves the coronal ridge, which is highly sensitive, and the shaft fully exposed. Powell said the cap, because of the adhesive film, would not be left inside the woman's vagina or the partner's other orifices.

The Food and Drugs Administration has already approved the adhesive as safe for the penis skin. Powell is seeking investors in the venture who could donate to his Indiegogo campaign, which launches on Sunday, June 1.

Powell, however, is not yet recruiting for men willing to test how effective is the Galactic Cap.

Perhaps California's male porn stars would be willing to volunteer if the need arises since the new condom design could be the one to save the state's $6-billion adult entertainment industry which stakeholders warn could close because of a proposal in the state assembly approved on Wednesday that requires porn actors to wear a condom when filming sex scenes.

According to Breitbart News, porno film viewers do not like to see the actors using a condom. With the Galactic Cup, there is minimal cover on the male genitals, while providing the performers protection from STD and pregnancy.
