Lady Gaga Smoked Fifteen Weed-Filled Cigarettes a Day, Used Marijuana as Pain Reliever
What is it with celebrities and marijuana? From the time of Bob Marley to the present time of Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus, Rihanna and many more, everyone has been so open to loving this drug and getting addicted to it. The latest celebrity to confess her love for the marijuana, which is also seen as a pain numbing drug, is none other than Lady Gaga.
The "Applause" singer has confessed getting addicted to smoking marijuana when she was suffering from extreme pain in her hip joint stemming up from hip tear in 2012. The 27-year-old was wheelchair-bound for quite some time due to extreme pain and smoked not less than 15 weed-filled cigarettes every day!
Gaga used the drug to ease her pain. The U.S. government has also made marijuana legal in some American states such as California with a prescription. The star used the weed to numb her pain when it got real bad and unbearable for her. She would smoke a weed and sleep through the pain but it soon became a habit for her.
"I was smoking FIFTEEN joints a day," she confessed to Attitude magazine. The drug can have negative impact to human beings by decreasing short-term memory, impair motor skills, induce feelings of paranoia and anxiety that make eyes appear red.
"It was a habit that eventually occurred when the pain got so bad with the hip. I was just numbing, numbing, numbing myself then sleeping it off, then getting on stage, killing it in pain, then getting off and smoking, smoking, smoking, not knowing what the pain was," Gaga added.
However, once a weed addict, it's very difficult to come out of the habit and it happened with Gaga too.
"F**k, if I know what hurts the most, you know? I would break the habit and it would sneak back in and I would break it and sneak back in," she confesses.
The "Born This Way" singer's pain was so bad that she had to cancel 25 shows. During the low period of her life, Lady Gaga penned the lyrics of her third album "ARTPOP," which is scheduled for release on Monday.
