While Lady Gaga talked to her Aussie fans during one of her welcome shows, the singer "urged" political leaders to allow same-sex marriage in the country.

During the US singer's first television appearance, Gaga expressed her devotion to her gay fans and their rights, including her positive view on same sex marriage. "Let's inspire them (Australians) to be modern... it's 2011, get on with it!" says the singer during a break in her songs. The Born this Way singer also mentioned how "thrilled" she is with the legalization of same sex marriages in New York, the popstar's home town. NY is the sixth state in the United States to allow marriage equality, following Iowa, Nevada, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Vermont and Maine. In Australia, the NSW Labor supports same sex marriage, but the vote for the proposition is postponed until December.

In the same television appearace, the Judas singer also applauded Australians on the way they casted their political votes. "I think it is wonderful you have a female running the show - I wish it was that way in America" said the singer in a post by Nine MSN. Lady Gaga performed a slow, acoustic rendition of her latest hit "Edge of Glory" inside a Perspex box during the television special called "A Gaga Affair" which will be aired tonight at 6:30 PM on Nine MSN.

The much-anticipated "Sydney Monster Ball" concert of the singer is set to happen on the 13th at the Sydney Entertainment Hall.
