Lady Gaga, the famed singer-song writer known for her unique taste, is reported to be so in love with Indian food, more specifically curry, so much so that she could go into an Indian food coma. But could that much Indian food really be all that good for one's health?

Lady Gaga, infatuated with Indian food, said that she just loves to eat it - going for curry whenever she can, and that she could eat it every day, according to Daily Star. However, despite her love for Indian food, her managers have banned her from consuming it before she goes on stage for fear that it might put off other dancers, Medindia.net reported.

But whether Lady Gaga could have Indian curry all the time or it could put off other people, is it good to consume that much Indian food? Due to the many spices that Indian cuisine has that gives it its unique flavor and color; experts say it can do wonders for a person's health.

As an essential ingredient, curries cannot do without the spice turmeric. The "King of Spices" happens to have a lot of health benefits as it contains the antioxidant, curcumin, which is an essential ingredient for cleaning and restoring the liver, and is also helpful in treating arthritis, Dietivity.com reported.

Curry also uses a number of other spices such as bay leaves, which is helpful in treating migraines as the leaves contain compounds called parthenolides. Caraway seed, another spice, is considered to be both antibacterial and anti-inflammatory, and a good booster of the immune function.

Other essential ingredients to make curry are cloves which also have an anti-inflammatory effect; coriander, which helps soothe the stomach; cumin, a spice that can relieve diarrhea and bowel spasms as well as morning sickness; the antioxidant-packed fennel, that contains fiber, folate, potassium, and vitamin C; and ginger that is used to naturally treat nausea from morning sickness and motion-related sickness.

Not only the spices, but another ingredient that makes Indian curry what it is, is coconut milk. According to EatDrinkBetter.com, coconut milk is great in building the body's defense and immune system as it has many vitamins, minerals, and electrolytes, including potassium, calcium, and chloride. In addition, though the coconut milk is high in saturated fat, its short-chain and medium-chain fatty acids which quickly turn in to energy instead of storing it as fat.

But of course, the key with all foods, like most things, is moderation as too much is always bad for someone's health.
