Lamar Odom Will Play Basketball Again but Not in the NBA, the Former Sixth Man of the Year Signs with Spanish Basketball Club Baskonia

Lamar Odom will have another chance to continue his basketball career, but not in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Lamar has officially signed a contract with Spanish basketball club Baskonia, Yahoo Sports reported. The club made the announcement on Tuesday.

Lamar will play for the Spanish club for a limited duration. The 34-year-old athlete signed a two-month contract, but the deal includes a possibility to lengthen the agreement until the end of the season. The former Los Angeles Lakers star is expected to arrive in Spain within this week, and could make his first appearance on Saturday against Valladolid, the Website further reported.

Baskonia president Josean Querejeta revealed in a statement that they were ecstatic to be able to sign Lamar even for just a short period of time.

"We're very happy to have signed a very important player who has had a long and fruitful career in the NBA," said Querejeta. According to Querejeta, it wasn't easy for them to sign Lamar. Everyone else probably has to work around it just to make it happen.

"We've worked very hard over the last couple of days to make this happen, we felt we needed a boost and had to break the collective cloud that has been hanging over us the last while so we could get back to winning," he added.

Lamar has never really given up on his dream of playing basketball again. He may not be playing for the NBA again and his games may not be aired on TV but this is great news. With a bit of luck, this break will allow Lamar to get his groove back on doing what he loves and enjoys the most.

Lamar has fallen off the wagon quite a few times in the past. He battled drug abuse, alcoholism, and infidelity, but he is out to prove that he can make amends and clean up his actions.

It seems like Lamar isn't really done playing basketball whether people believe it or not. In November, it was reported that the Los Angeles Clippers was going to sign him but it has gotten a little shady. If NBA teams won't sign him in their rosters, he just did what other athletes would've really done, and that is to try out and explore other options.
