U.S. high school teacher Laura Elizabeth Whitehurst has been arrested after giving birth last June 18 because the child's father is a 16-year-old Citrus Valley High student. After the arrest last week, two more students bravely stepped forward to reveal that they also had sex with Whitehurst during her tenure for six years at the Redlands Unified District in California resulting to 41 sex crime charges.

Det. Dominick Povero revealed on the search warrant that the high school teacher's relationship with the Citrus Valley High School student started after a Disneyland trip in July 2012. The teacher and student were involved in several acts of sexual intercourse even after the confirmation on the teacher's pregnancy.

The warrant further stated the teenager student, now 17 years old, was present when Laura Whitehurst delivered the baby last June. After the student told his mother what happened, the concerned parent contacted the school district which filed a report about the incident to the Redlands police.

The Redlands police are currently alleged of covering up the case on the teacher-student sexual relationship but the Redlands superintendent denied the accusation. The police warrant stated that the school district failed to report the teacher-student relationship and only started investigating six weeks before filing the report on July 1 even though it has been going on for a year.

Supt. Lori Rhodes stated an anonymous person reported in mid-May about the teacher-student involvement. However, proof was not provided to support the allegation.

After the Whitehurst's arrest, two former students decided to come forward and reveal their past sexual relationship with the teacher. One of the boys was just 14 years old when he started having sex with Laura Whitehurst in her classroom, apartment and car in 2007.

"A 20-year-old man told detectives that he began his relationship with her in the fall of 2007 when he was freshman," Redlands police stated. The unnamed man told the police that they ended their relationship in 2008.

The other student victim, now 22 years old, confirmed to the police that he had sexual intercourse with Whitehurst at Redlands High. Their relationship happened as well from 2007 to 2008 when he was still a junior student and everything started after discussing an English paper about dreams where Whitehurst told him that she "had a dream about kissing him."

Laura Whitehurst had left Redlands High in 2009 and then became employed at a different school before transferring to Citrus Valley High. The investigation on Whitehurst's case is ongoing and anyone who has additional information is asked to contact the authorities.
