Lauren Boebert Slams Biden, Twitter Users Return The Favor
Rep. Lauren Boebert, R-Colo., went on the offensive over the weekend, attacking Joe Biden for a series of executive orders repealing a wide variety of Trump-era policies. While she may be outraged that she wonât be getting the planned âGarden of American Heroes,â Twitter users were delighted to have another opportunity to remind her of her role in the Jan. 6 insurrection and opposition to leukemia funding.
Planning for Trumpâs monument began with a task force in 2020, laying the groundwork for âa vast outdoor park that will feature the statues of the greatest Americans to ever live.â
In addition to standard political figures, the garden would have contained statues of athletes and pop culture stars. The list, of course, would be curated by Trump himself, featuring Davy Crockett, Billy Graham, Whitney Houston, Harriet Tubman and Antonin Scalia.
No site was ever selected and the project never received funding from Congress. Bidenâs executive order ending the task force was the final nail in the gardenâs coffin, giving Lauren Boebert the chance to publicly mourn the lost statues.
Boebert, however, is a high-profile target within the alt-right, garnering widespread opposition due to her publicity stunts and stances on guns, COVID-19 and the Jan. 6 insurrection. Users seldom pass up the opportunity to bring up her unpopular positions.
Boebert also took aim at mounting opposition to Arizonaâs state audit, which has been rife with secrecy, bias and publicly humiliating gaffes like spending time checking the ballots for bamboo fibers after it was suggested they had been flown in from Asia.
