LG's launch of the G2 marked the company's increasing efforts to compete in the high end or premium smartphom market arena. This time, LG ramps up the notch with the LG G3. The release of the handset also pitted LG against competitors like the HTC One M8 and the Samsung Galaxy S5. The series of specs offered by the device was enough to convince some that it may be one of the best smartphones around.

According to Forbes, LG's G3 may have just gone past Samsung Galaxy S5 and HTC One M8 in terms of specs and potential overall user experience. The device runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 quad-core SoC clocked at 2.5GHz with 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage. There is also another variant with 32GB internal storage and 3GB RAM. It also packs on a removable 3000 mAh battery, NFC, Bluetooth, LTE, 802.11ac+ wireless connectivity, microSD for expandable memory and Android 4.4.2 KitKat. The handset weighs 149g and measures 146.3 x 74.6 x 8.9mm. LG has also included a range of interesting accessories like the "QuickCircle" folio case and a wireless-charging stand.

The handset features a slimmer build compared to the G2. According to reports, while the device sports dimensions similar to competitors, it is impressive to see LG squeeze in all features in those dimensions.

LG's G3 share similar specifications with the HTC One M8 and the Galaxy S5. The devices share similar OS, SoC and RAM configurations. LG's G3 stands out from competition particularly for its camera, screen and industrial design. It also offers Android customizations ensuring excellent user experience. What is interesting is that it is the first handset to feature a quad-HD display in the United States.

LG's G3 offers 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution and a pixel density of 538ppi.
