LG G4 Price Revealed: Likely To Cost More Than Samsung Galaxy S6 At $825-Equivalent In South Korea
With the LG G4 release date set for April 28, more and more details pertaining to the flagship handset are getting revealed. This time around, the pricing information of the handset has been unearthed from South Korea.
According to a report from ET News, the South Korean LG G4 price will be set somewhere in between the retail price of the Samsung Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge. This means, LG will be pricing the flagship device in the ambit of $795 and $908 equivalent. Also it is worth noting that, the LG G4 pre-order window has already started in South Korea under KT, LG U+ and SK Telecom with a price tag of $825. Apparently, many potential buyers were not happy with the quoted price because it is costlier than the 32 GB variant of the Samsung Galaxy S6 at $795, notes Phone Arena.
Meanwhile, an LG official apparently told ET News that, “Prices are yet to be confirmed, but will stay within that range. The comparison target is Edge because the best camera, natural leather, etc. are used.” This means, in any case, the upcoming LG G4 will cost more than the 32 GB Galaxy S6. Moreover, the LG official also quoted saying, the tech giant has apparently chosen the aforementioned price ambit because it considers the G4 to be in line with the premium-priced Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge more than the flagship Galaxy S6.
On the other hand, potential LG G4 buyers should note that, the handset comes with a natural leather back option, along with a groundbreaking 16 MP sensor with f/1.8 aperture as the main camera unit. To sweeten the deal further, LG is also reportedly offering one-year free screen repair upon purchasing the G4. Therefore, LG feels the G4 deserves to strut around with a premium price tag.
But then, the price point might come back to haunt the tech giant as the Galaxy S6 handset is considered to be the best smartphone ever manufactured by Samsung , opines Phone Arena. When speaking about LG G4 presales pertaining to both online and offline shops, as the customers cannot experience the final product during the pre-order window, the sales seems to be calm when compared to the S6. In the meantime, an unnamed telecommunication firm official apparently told ET News that, “Being unable to test the product with hands, experiential marketing is impossible. Whether such mysticism marketing where the design is not fully revealed will work or not is the key.”
