LG Nexus 5 vs LG G Flex: Which LG Phone Comes Out on Top?
As Oct 15 came and went without any sign of the Google Nexus 5 or the Android 4.4 Kitkat, the latest rumour has been based on the teaser on Oct 28.
Mind you, it feels very much like a conspiracy theory, but as per Phone Arena, it seems like too much of a coincidence. For instance, teasers such as the "This is it" poster formed by Kitkat-like bars are said to be in reference to the Michael Jackson movie released on Oct 28.
Another poster marking the original singer of "Everybody Dance Now" being The 28th Crew serves to point to the date once more. But one of the biggest clue could be the Oct 29 release date last year for the Google Nexus 4.
While nothing is still confirmed with regard to the release date, the build-up for the Google Nexus 5 has been overwhelming. But LG is gearing up for another phone, the LG G Flex, and it has a more advanced technology that can rival one of Samsung's upcoming bigger bets.
Between the LG Nexus 5 and the LG G Flex, which one has the more potential to be the better LG phone?
LG G Flex: Putting Flexed Phones on the Map
Press images have been disseminated to various sources online, particularly this one from The Verge. The photos show off the LG G Flex. Compared to the Samsung Galaxy Round, which curved display is oriented to the side, the LG G Flex curves the length of the phone, which supposedly makes it ideal for phone calls.
And while the Samsung Galaxy Round is technically the first smartphone to have this kind of technology available, it is said to still be a prototype that's up for improvements. Meanwhile, LG can still stand to make a statement if the rumoured November release date for the LG G Flex pushes through with a device that can be sold immediately.
The only known details about the LG G Flex is that it has a 6-inch curved display and, judging by the leaked press release photos, a sleek overall body. In addition, Trusted Reviews reports that the OLED display for the LG G Flex is made of plastic substrates, making it more durable.
The latest rumour has also pegged the LG G Flex to be released via Sprint with the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, according to Softpedia. This seems almost disappointing, considering that the LG Nexus 5 is slated to come with the newest Android 4.4 Kitkat.
The reportedly curved battery from LG is also expected to be featured in the LG G Flex. But everything else, such as pricing and other specs have not yet been revealed.

Google LG Nexus 5: The Awaited Champion
Following the massive success of the Nexus 4, LG was once quoted that it will not aim to overthrow what had been achieved by the Nexus 4 by creating an LG Nexus 5.
But when the LG Nexus 5 was finally announced, expectations are now running high for the device, which could rival the newest contender from Apple, the iPhone 5S.
As for the features, GSM Arena reports that there are already a few speculations, such as the Snapdragon 800 chipset, 2.3 GHz quad-core Krait 400 CPU, a 2,300 mAh battery, 2 GB of RAM, a 4.95-inch display and the Android 4.4 Kitkat OS.
However, there have been reports that there may be two variations of the LG Nexus 5, mostly because of the difference in battery and storage space, which, in turn, will affect pricing.
Continuing leaks have showcased snapshots and even a hands on video of the Google Nexus 5 and the Android 4.4 Kitkat shown off. Perhaps the question now is why the device is still not seeing any concrete reveal dates. Since the LG G Flex is more or less slated for a November release, the LG Nexus 5 should either be given sometime before or after the reveal of the other LG phone in order to not steal each other's thunder.
