Fingerprint sensor has been a dominant theme on wild rumours surrounding the iPhone 6 and iPhone 5S release date, prompting one designer to show off an iPhone render that prominently highlights the killer feature.

Concept Phones recently picked up a new concept from Federico Ciccarese, whose imagination played up to the speculations - a widescreen iOS smartphone that is accentuated by a Home button embedded with a new security tool.

Purportedly designed to limit access to a particular iPhone owner, the fingerprint sensor sits right at the bottom portion of the device's front panel, staying to persistent suggestions that Apple will pack the function with the familiar iPhone Home key.

It could be, but Mr Ciccarese was not clear on this, that the same control key is capacitive and protected from scratches plus the normal wear and tear by a sapphire coating, resting on top of a stretched phone screen, likely made of Corning Gorilla Glass' latest build.

Immediately noticeable is the curved and heavyset profile, which according Concept Phones are throwback features of the third generation iPhone with tweaks.

The designer cooked up an appealing smartphone that seems to borrow its look from the upscale Galaxy series that Samsung initially used with the 2012 flagships Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2.

Besides the physical render, the design offered no specs though recent reports have hinted that the upcoming iPhone models will sport a handset interface that totally bears the signature of Apple chief designer Jony Ive.

With the sure arrival of iOS 7, iPhones and iPads will be given new icons that mostly represent the flat interface design now espouse by Mr Ive, Apple Insider said in a report.

Gone will be the glossy and translucent layers plus the 3D effects seen in previous makes of Apple's mobile operating system. The overall rendering will be simple, with the gadgets focusing on functions and killer features.

Apple has reportedly geared the iPhone 5S for a September release date, with analysts expecting only incremental updates that underscore better security and camera capabilities.

It is the iPhone 6, rumoured to be phablet-size, that reports said will bring in the usual jaw-dropping bump ups that Apple is known for and the world will get to see them on June 2014.
