Though she has not been officially announced to play Victoria in the upcoming film, "Gotti: Three Generations", actress Lindsay Lohan has joined the cast and members of the Gotti family in a press conference held at Sheraton Hotel New York Hotel and Towers on Tuesday, April 12.

This has heightened earlier reports that Lohan was hired for the role. But the film producers maintained that they are still in talks with the actress.

"I'm in talks to have Lindsay in the movie. Nothing has been finalized, but we are in talks," producer, Marc Fiore was quoted as telling reports during the conference.

Officially cast or not, the “Mean Girls” star had made her presence felt at the conference giving hint that she will likely land the job.

The actress has been the top choice to play Victoria.

"She's good friends with my mom, [Dina Lohan], and I met Mr. Gotti when I was younger too, when I was three, which is really funny," Lohan told reporters.

The “Parent Trap” actress was quick to describe the character she is about to portray when asked by reporters.

She said, "I like that Victoria, she's a very strong woman and I really appreciate and respect that."

Also in attendance at the conference was “Face-Off” star, John Travolta, who plays John Gotti- - Lindsay’s father if she bags the role for Victoria.

Travolta said during the press conference that he is thrilled to play the Mafia in the upcoming film.

Travolta said, "I like the glamor that he has, I like the humor, he entertained the press very well. He charmed them and he charmed his fans. There was mystery about what he was up to."

"Gotti: Three Generations" will be directed by Nick Cassavetes, who said that the film covers several decades tracing the life of John Gotti from the time he headed the Gambinos mafia group until his death while imprisoned in 2002. The film is scheduled to begin production in October this year and its release is slated in 2012.
