Singer, Lionel Richie, is back in the music charts again.

As his new album, "Tuskegee" spends its second week at number one on the Billboard Country Albums charts, the soul legend sat down on an interview to share his thoughts about his foray into country music and to get a father-in-law's perspective on "The Voice" star and wannabe-Aussie, Joel Madden.

From Hamburg, Germany, Lionel says that he has been blown away by the success of his new duets album which is the collaboration with great country music artists including Shania Twain, Willie Nelson and Tim McGraw singing their own interpretations of his hit songs. Richie has got his work cut out for him as he convinces the Germans to buy the record.

Meanwhile, Australians love his son-in-law Joel Madden. "Joel is just in love with Australia. This is a love affair," Lionel confirms.

However, Richie is not happy about Joel's talk of moving to Australia with his daughter, Nicole Richie and his two grandchildren, Sparrow and Harlow.

"Every time I talk to him he can't stop raving about how great it is in Australia. I love the place too, but I don't want them to move there. I keep reminding them how far it is for Granddad to travel to see the grandkids," Lionel shared.

Lionel also shared that even though he decided against flying over to Australia because of the harsh winter, fans can still expect to see him during the warmer months.

"I follow the sun," he says of his jetsetter lifestyle. On the other hand, Richie was not surprised to hear that Joel is the most popular coach on "The Voice" according to a poll. He described his daughter's husband as the sweetest guy on earth and he even recalls how the love-struck Madden proposed to Nicole over and over again before she finally said yes.

Can fans expect to hear a father and son-in-law duet? "I've been on him to collaborate with me for years," says Lionel. "You watch. I want in on the next album," he added.

"Sparrow is already in the studio at two years old. He's amazing," Lionel shared.
