Make way for Oscars’ “Francaway”
Oscars writers branded first-time Oscars hosts their celebrity name: Francaway
First-time hosts James Franco and Anne Hathaway are given by the Oscars writers their celebrity name, Francaway and the two are described cool and excited and in any way does not shed any sign of tension and nervousness days before the big event.
She has had her hair done; his earlier plans to sing Cher's "You Haven't Seen the Last of Me" has been cut out in the line-up; and both has been rehearsing non-stop. All is set for 83rd Academy Awards Sunday night at the Kodak Theater.
And everyone seems to be nervous for Oscars first-time hosts, except.. well, James Franco and Anne Hathaway.
Speaking to Francaway in between rehearsals with other members of media, Sandy Cohen of the Associated Press described the youngster hosts excited for the upcoming awards event and both have shown no trace of edginess for their big tasks.
Not only is this first for both of them to host the high-profile awards nights for films, but Francaway have also never worked together in any project before they were tapped for Oscars.
But Francaway reveal their ‘chemistry was instantaneous’.
"I've been thinking of having chemistry with James Franco for years," Hathaway was quoted as saying by the AP.
The Princess Diary star are all praises for her co-host.
“James has really made me question what it means to be an actor and an artist," Anne said emphasizing that James has "an entirely original mind."
She added. "James doesn't allow anything to be conventional or cliched."
When asked about the pressure of Sunday’s show, James was quick to say that he is ready to be ‘original’ when he walks the stage.
"Nobody thinks I'm Chris Rock or Billy Crystal," he said, quoted by AP. "I can try anything and nobody has high expectations, so nobody cares if I'm not great."
As earlier noted in a report by IBTimes, Francaway were tapped by the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences to host the event because this year’s theme. They have developed the idea of making this year’s Oscars a ‘visual journey through movie history’ and should be hosted by ‘young and energetic actors’.
And Francaway have both claimed that they can never be happier to be added on the roster of Oscars talented hosts.
James said, "I remember every Oscar season, I'd be driving by and probably getting in a traffic jam because they closed off Hollywood Boulevard or whatever and just feeling like, 'Wow, that was it, that was the top.' So it's nice to be here."
Hathaway said, "I love the Oscars. I do. I think it's wonderful. I love being an actor. I feel like the luckiest girl in the whole wide world, and this is just a continuation of the amazing fortune and remarkable and unusual experiences I've gotten to have in my life. I couldn't be more grateful."
James Franco, 32 and Anne Hathaway, 28 according to Reuters were chosen this year for they represent youth and energy that will complement this year’s Oscars theme.
