Literary Figures Brought to Life: From 'Hunger Games' Jennifer Lawrence to 'Twilight's' Kristen Stewart [PHOTOS]
Without books, there would be no block buster films everyone would be lining up for and dying to see at the cinemas. Without the talented writing and awesome imagination of authors such as Suzanne Collins, J.K. Rowling or Lewis-Caroll, there would be no books that create a world of infinite possibilities.
Thanks to these writers and their books, Hollywood film makers have brought their literary heroines to life and Jennifer Lawrence is just one of them as Katniss Everdeen in the highly celebrated "Hunger Games" trilogy.
Before there was the "perfect" Katniss embodied by Oscar nominated actress, Jennifer Lawrence, there were a few more literary heroines brought to life.
Another Oscar nominee is Rooney Mara for her portrayal of Lisbeth Salander in the best-selling novel, "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" written by Stieg Larson. In this compelling crime drama and action packed film, Rooney Mara stars alongside the dapper-looking, Daniel Craig.
The "Harry Potter" cast would have not been complete if it was not for their Hermione Granger embodied by Emma Watson whom according to the author herself, J.K. Rowling, was the "perfect" Hermione. Now that she's out of the Potter films, Emma is making a name for herself with the fashion line, Lancôme.
Another damsel in distress is Kristen Stewart as her portrayal as Isabella Swan in Stephanie Meyer's best-selling novels, "Twilight." The final installment of the film "Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2" will finally be out by November, and this time, Stewart boasts of her newly-claimed "vampire" life. Stewart also brings to life another literary figure in Jack Kerouac's novel, "On the Road" where she stars as Marylou.
Country pop star, Taylor Swift, also manages to bring a literary figure to life with the use of her voice. Taylor swift voices the female lead, Audrey in Theodor Seuss Geisel aka Dr. Seuss's' novel, "The Lorax." Alongside her for the 3D-CG animated film adaptation is "The Lucky One" star, Zac Efron.
A few other blonde beauties who have brought to life literary figures would be Reese Witherspoon as Marlena in the novel "Water for Elephants" written by Sara Gruen, Emma Stone as Skeeter Phelan in the novel "The Help" written by Kathryn Stockett, and Mia Wasikowska as Alice in the novel "Alice in Wonderland" written by Lewis Caroll.
Another book written by Stephanie Meyer is the "The Host" of which the lead character will be brought to life by the lovely Saoirse Ronan. Ronan also embodied the rape victim of Alice Sebold's highly-acclaimed novel "The Lovely Bones."
Nicholas Sparks' compelling novel, "The Last Song", is just a few of his novels brought to life on the big screen. The rebellious teenager, Ronnie Miller, is portrayed by young star, Miley Cyrus.
Given that there are books to read, then the world would expect a few more films to roll in along with Hollywood actresses who perfectly embody the literary figure described by the author.
