On-loan player Aly Cissokho expressed his desire to remain with Liverpool after the expiration of his season-long loan deal from La Liga side Valencia CF.

Cissokho, who got his only call-up from France in 2010, has featured five times for the Reds, four of them in the recent four games.

"It's a great source of pride for me every day to be able to play with players like this and to represent a big club like Liverpool," Cissokho told Liverpoolfc.com.

"It's a source of pride for all the coaches I had as a youth player. Of course, I am very happy to be here and I hope to stay here."

"It's a great city. We have a great training complex here, and we all have a lot placed at our disposal to get the best from each player, and that's a good thing for me."

Jeremy Mathieu is Valencia's first choice at left-back, which may see Cissokho be given the green light to stay with the Merseysiders should summer come.

Liverpool, which are currently 2 points behind English Premier League leaders Arsenal, will be visiting Goodison Park on Saturday for a Merseyside derby against long-time league rival Everton.
