With Ronan Keating deciding to extend his stay in Australia to get to perform more shows from January to February, you would surely cannot help but remember him being once a member of a famous boy band called 'Boyzone.'

No matter how much other former boy band members choose to go solo and start their own careers, it will always be difficult to detach yourself from the seemingly indelible mark of being once a boy band member.

So if you have a good memory, take a look back at the best boy bands of all time that really made it undeniably big too in the industry.

Boyzone

They started way back in 1993 auditioning for an ad that seeks Irish boy band members. Their cover songs like 'Working My Way Back To You' and 'Love Me For A Reason' easily reached the highest spots in the UK charts. They took a long break in 2000 but they returned in 2007 for a compilation album. But all this success was put into a halt when one of their members, Stephen Gately, passed away in 2009.

'N Sync

Two of the members of this boy band, JC Chasez and Justin Timberlake were former members of the New Mickey Mouse Club. It was in 1996 when the two formed their boy band and had three more members come aboard. From 1998 up to the next four years, their songs remained on top of the charts. At present, the two mentioned ex Mickey Mouse Club members are pursuing their solo careers with Timberlake even already an actor in Hollywood already.

Backstreet Boys

During the late 90s, it was Backtreet Boys along with Britney Spears that ruled the hearts of many teenagers who especially love pop. They were formed in 1993 with the help of music producer Lou Pearlman. The peak of their success was felt in between the years of 1997 and 2001. They did a summer concert tour with another classic boy band, New Kids on the Block.

Westlife

Westlife is another boy band product of the manager of Boyzone Louis Walsh. This group was co-managed by Ronan Keating himself with the group's very first single instantly landing the number one spot in the British charts. They also amazingly reached considerable success in the US.

Boyz II Men

Formed way back in 1988, three of their members were former members of New Edition. They were then renamed as Boyz II Men before they hit the recording studio to make their hits. They have been considered to be the biggest selling R&B group of all time.

Other classic groups which somehow influenced this boy band trend includes New Kids on the Block, The Osmonds, New Edition, and even Jackson 5.

Ronan Keating will tour the Aussie lands with a string quartet along with a seven piece band for him to render intimate solo performances. He will be in Sydney, Melbourne, Wollongoing, Newcastle, Canberra, Perth and Adelaide. This will run from January 26 to around February 16.
