Swedish talent, Loreen, won the worldwide singing contest Eurovision 2012.

The singer and music producer finished first place in the recently concluded Eurovision 2012 held in Azerbaijan. The 28-year-old singer wowed the audience with her upbeat performance accompanied with bouncy dance moves.

This victory brings Eurovision to one of its home. Sweden's most famous band ABBA gained worldwide fame after winning the contest in 1974 with their iconic song Waterloo.

Russia's heartwarming ensemble of elderly women Buranovskiye Babushki bagged the second place. Serbia settled on third place who competed in the competition three times.

There are some things that you should know about this amazing singer.

1. She finished fourth in Swedish Idol 2004.

Eurovision is not the first singing contest that Loreen joined. She became known to the audience when she first joined Idol in 2004. She entered the competition as a wildcard contestant. She finished fourth in the competition overall.

2. She helps other musicians.

As a music producer, Loreen discover new singing talents. She is an active participant in cultivating singing careers of artists in Sweden.

3. She is a political activist and stands up for human rights.

Despite competing for the trophy, Loreen made some time to meet with local human rights activists. She is the only artist that did that. She expressed "Human rights are violated in Azerbaijan every day. One should not be silent about such things." The Azerbaijan government responded by saying that the contest should not be politicized.
