'Lucifer' Season 2: Morningstar's mother's age will 'make sense' when you watch the show
Tricia Helfer has addressed the concerns regarding her age, after being cast as Morningstar’s mother in “Lucifer” Season 2. There isn’t a lot of age difference between her and her onscreen son, but the actress insists that it will all make sense when the fans watch the show.
In an interview with TV Line, Helfer confirmed that playing the role of Charlotte will have its challenges, but that has nothing to do with her age. The actress said that even though she is not older than her on screen children Morningstar (Tom Ellis) and Amenadiel (D.B. Woodside), it will “all make sense once you see it.”
The actress has read the scripts for the first two episodes, and teased that fans will realise what her character is all about “very quickly” on the show. According to the official description of the character, Charlotte claims she escaped Hell in order spend more time with her sons. But, her real motives remain hidden.
“There are a lot of layers to her. She’s going to be fun to play,” Helfer said about her character in “Lucifer” Season 2. “So we’re not going to leave people guessing. There’s been enough of that with the concern that she’s escaped from Hell.”
In another interview with Comic Book Resources, Helfer said that the fans are expecting “a certain thing” out of her character. She explained that as a fan she would only expect one thing from her character, after Morningstar’s concerns about her coming to earth to seek vengeance. She teased that the fans will be “surprised” by Charlotte.
Morningstar’s mother in “Lucifer” Season 2 has “a lot of layers,” according to Helfer. She said that although the fans will get a sense of what her character is about early on in the season, they will get to know that there is more to her after a few episodes.
