The synopsis of “Lucifer” Season 2 has been released online. Morningstar and Chloe will once again work together to solve a murder case. However, things are not the same as before after the events of the previous season, and with the introduction of a new character.

[Spoiler alert]

According to the synopsis of the premiere episode posted on Dread Central, Morningstar (Tom Ellis) and Chloe (Lauren German) will work on the murder case of a stand-in actress. However, the protagonist will be “distracted” by the fact that his mother has escaped Hell.

Charlotte (Tricia Helfer) escaped Hell in the finale episode of the first season. God tasked Morningstar with finding his mother and asked him to bring her back. The Mother of Angels will choose a human vessel in the next season and make her way to Los Angeles, in order to spend some time with her sons. However, her true intentions for coming to Earth will only be revealed later.

Morningstar will have another challenge in “Lucifer” Season 2. A new Medical Examiner Ella (Aimee Garcia) will test Chloe’s faith in her friend.

On the other hand, Amenadiel (D.B. Woodside) wants to “rein in” his brother’s “wild side.” Both the characters will have to deal with the absence of Maze (Lesley-Ann Brandt).

A new promo video of the next season has also been released online by FOX. The video shows Chloe saying that they should find out “who did this.” Morningstar promises to punish those who deserve it.

“Doing the devil’s work never felt so good,” Morningstar says in the promo video.

“Lucifer” Season 2 is set to premiere on Sep. 19. The title of the episode is “Everything’s Coming Up Lucifer.” Previously released promo videos showed Morningstar talking about his mother with psychiatrist Linda Martin (Rachael Harris). The introduction of Charlotte is expected to shake things up for the protagonist and for those close to him.
