'Lucifer' Season 2 preview: Morningstar has to pray; Mum on the loose

A new preview video of “Lucifer” Season 2 has been released online. The video shows Morningstar praying, in his own unique style. His mother is on the loose in Los Angeles and the protagonist is concerned.

The trailer begins with the psychiatrist Linda Martin telling Morningstar (Tom Ellis) that he never mentioned his mother before. Charlotte (Tricia Helfer) escaped from Hell in the previous season and the protagonist was tasked by God to find her and bring her back.

The Mother of Angels is heading to Los Angeles in a human body, and Morningstar is concerned that she is going to kill him. According to the official character description, she wants to spend some time with her sons, but her real motivations will only be revealed later.

“So Mama Morningstar is on the loose,” Maze (Lesley-Ann Brandt) remarks in the preview video. It is not clear who she is talking to in this scene.

Morningstar initially believes that his mother won’t be able to get far in her new body in “Lucifer” Season 2. However, the character realises the challenge before him after it is pointed out to him that the body she has chosen is “stupid hot” and she also has a credit card.

“Oh sure...what could possibly go wrong?” Amenadiel (D.B. Woodside) says sarcastically in the preview video. However, the protagonist may not have to search for his mother for too long, as he believes that she is coming for him. The trailer teases Morningstar praying.

Another trailer of the next season is focussed on Maze. The video shows her wanting to get away from Morningstar. She is still getting used to her new life on Earth, and she needs to figure out how she can fit in.

“Lucifer” Season 2 is set to premiere on Sept. 19. The title of the first episode is “Everything’s Coming Up Lucifer.”
