'Lucifer' Season 2 spoilers: Mother from Hell not happy with humanity
The Mother of Angels, who escaped from Hell, will not be very happy about humanity in “Lucifer” Season 2, the producers of the show teased in a recent interview. The character is expected to visit her son in Los Angeles in the next season.
[Spoiler alert]
Executive Producer Joe Henderson told TVOverMind that what he likes about the cases the two main characters solve together is that it helps Morningstar (Tom Ellis) “explore the desires of humanity” and helps him understand how these desire “reflect” on him. His mother, on the other hand, will not share his enthusiasm about humanity.
Charlotte (Tricia Helfer) was imprisoned in Hell by her husband. But, Ildy Modrovich revealed that the character still loves God and her emotions are more of “whistful longing” rather than anger or rage. The producers revealed that the main reason for her to split from her husband is the creation of humanity.
God and Charlotte created angels together. However, God was “tinkering” in the “garage” on a project called humanity. This made the Mother of Angels jealous and this eventually led to them splitting. So, the character will not be as “intrigued by humanity” as her son in “Lucifer” Season 2.
The report points out that it is possible that Charlotte did not leave Hell alone and she may have some demons accompany her to earth. The cast members of the show did not want to comment on this specific issue for fear of losing their jobs.
The introduction of the new character will have ripple effect on the others in the show, another TVOverMind report reveals. Modrovich revealed that Morningstar is going to be “vulnerable” with his mother visiting him.
The Mother of Angels will take human form in “Lucifer” Season 2, and just like her son she will have to deal with all the “newness” of being human. The main purpose of the character’s visit to earth is said to be her wish to spend time with her sons. However, there may be other motivations of the character that may be revealed in the future.
