Madonna During The 68th Venice Film Festival
Madonna opened up about being raped at 19 and explained why she did not report the crime. She also divulged why even with a heinous crime committed against her, she did not up and leave Manhattan. Madonna proved that nothing could stop her from giving a good performance, not even falling down a flight of stairs. During the Brit Awards 2015, the pop star worried many when she tumbled down a set of stairs, but she quickly recovered to finish her number.

New York Post reports that Madonna’s performance at the BRIT Awards on Wednesday started off bumpy when she fell off the stage after her cape was snagged by one of her dancers. The 56-year-old pop star was pulled backwards then went tumbling down a flight of stairs. The sound of the “Living for Love” singer hitting the floor sent the audience gasping. Around 20,000 turned up for the awards show.

Showing how professional and efficient a performer she is, she quickly got back up and continued with her performance. The audience was in awe and screamed in appreciation as she finished her number despite being hurt.

Madonna also later took to Twitter to explain what happened and reassured her fans that she is fine. She shared that her “Armani” cape was tied too tight, causing the accident. However, she noted that the little tumble could not stop her from performing.

Madonna prepared hard for her BRITS Awards 2015, missing her own annual Oscars afterparty because she needed to rehearse. Her afterparty was always considered one of the hottest because of its extravagance and privacy, so many were surprised that she herself was a no-show. Still, the party went on as planned and was as star-studded as ever. This year, IT stars such as Miley Cyrus, Beyoncé, Gigi Hadid, Tommy Hilfiger and many more were present.

Madonna's presence at the BRITS Awards was not without controversy, however. When it was announced that Madonna would be performing, Toronto Sun reported that British rocker Steven Patrick Morrissey said Madonna does not deserve to be there. “For 2015, we have MacDonna [sic], who had a quiet 2014 (but who is quite usefully about to release her new album!), yet here she is again promoting her frightening career on the Brit Awards even though her music has not ever said anything at all about British life,” he said.
