The latest "Man of Steel 2" casting reports claim "Lost" and "Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol" actor Josh Holloway is strongly considered to portray a role in the star-studded movie sequel. The character that Josh Holloway will portray in the upcoming film has not yet been confirmed but the Comic Book Movie report speculates the 44-year-old actor will get cast as Aquaman.

The report further claimed that fans have always considered Josh Holloway as the great choice for DC Comics' "King of the Seven Seas." Mr Holloway is best known for portraying con artist James "Sawyer" Ford in the hit ABC TV drama series "Lost."

The actor has also appeared in films like "Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol" in 2011 where he portrayed Agent Trevor Hanaway, "Battle of the Year" and "Paranoia" released in 2013. Currently, Josh Holloway is busy portraying the lead role in CBS' new TV series "Intelligence."

If Josh Holloway gets officially cast in the movie sequel, the actor will join the other "Man of Steel 2" stars such as British actor Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck who will portray Batman, actress Amy Adams reprising her role as Lois Lane, "Fast and Furious 6" star Gal Gadot who will portray Wonder Woman and film director Zack Snyder.

According to the Ace Showbiz report, other characters like Nightwing and Green Lantern are rumoured to appear in the highly anticipated film sequel, but no statement has been released yet to confirm or deny the circulating casting reports. Meanwhile, the Latino-Review report claims filming for the "Justice League" movie will start right after "Man of Steel 2."

The publication noted that the upcoming movie project explains the widespread casting reports on several DC characters. An unnamed source close to DC even revealed that Dwayne "The Rock" Johnshon will work on the "Justice League" movie this 2014 once the "Man of Steel 2" film production wraps up.

The pro wrestler-turned-actor even teased the fans on Twitter about his meeting with the big bosses of Warner Bros. "We just had a big meeting w/ Warner Bros CEO re: @DCComics 2014 we will partner up and create the cool bad assery. #RockTalk @ActionTilson," the actor shared to followers on his Twitter account @TheRock.

"Man of Steel 2," or also known as the "Batman vs. Superman," film is scheduled to be released in theaters on July 17, 2015.
