Kevin Spacey and Michael Rosenbaum, the actors who portrayed Superman's archenemy Lex Luthor in past, gave their thoughts on actor Jesse Eisenberg being cast for the villain character in the upcoming "Man of Steel 2" film. Both of them gave positive reactions with the belief that the "Social Network" star is a great actor and he can pull off the role.

"Smallville" star Michael Rosenbaum revealed in the CineKatz interview that Jesse Eisenberg may not need the advice from the actors who previously portrayed Lex Luthor in TV or film. "First off, I think he's a really good actor. I don't think he needs any advice from me, he'll do his homework," Michael Rosenbaum shared.

The 41-year-old actor further added: "I'm sure Zack [Snyder] has an idea. He cast you for reason. Jesse's a good actor. He'll do it his own way and that's the best way. If you can do it your way, if you succeed or fail, you succeed because you are being original."

Mr Rosenbaum pointed out that comparisons will always be made when a different actor takes on a role that has been portrayed in the past. The actor explained: "If you're trying to emulate someone, you'll always be compared. That's why I didn't want to be compared during Smallville. I didn't watch any of Gene Hackman as Lex."

Michael Rosenbaum continued to praise Jesse Eisenberg for bagging the role and even predict that the 30-year-old "Now You See Me" actor will be fantastic in the "Man of Steel 2" flick. Kevin Spacey, another remarkable actor that portrayed the villain in "Superman Returns" shared his thoughts on Mr Eisenberg being the latest Lex Luthor.

"I think [Jesse Eisenberg] is a remarkable actor. He's just going to f***ing own it. I think it's a great idea and I wish him the best with it," the 54-year-old "House of Cards" star told Empire magazine, according to the HNGN report.

The "Man of Steel 2" release date in movie theaters has been delayed and the Design & Trend report claims Jesse Eisenberg's filming schedule with the David Foster Wallace biopic "The End of the Tour" caused the conflict with the production. The report further revealed that Jesse Eisenberg, who portrays a Rolling Stone writer in the biopic, is currently filming with co-star Jason Segel in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

"Man of Steel 2" or sometimes dubbed as the "Batman vs. Superman" film is scheduled to be released in movie theaters on May 6, 2016.
