Shailene Woodley, Theo James: 'Divergent' Stars Featured in the Entertainment Weekly Cover
The anticipation for the "Divergent" film increases as the release date nears and non-stop promotions will be conducted. The latest plugging comes from the Entertainment Weekly magazine cover that features the "Divergent" stars Shailene Woodley and Theo James.
A lot of pressure has been placed on the "Divergent" film adaptation from author Veronica Roth's best-selling book series. Sara Vilkomerson of Entertainment Weekly was able to speak with the cast members and filmmakers on what their thoughts are on the crowd's expectations for the film.
Film producers admitted that the pressure on the "Divergent film" became excruciating and unfair for them since the target was "to make the best movie possible." Executive producer Douglas Wick shared: "The audience can really sniff when there's some kind of cynicism [involved in making a film]. It's like saying because of Gravity, let's do more space movies. Forget that this is a YA book. When you read it you see scenes, you visualize the world. That suggests a great movie."
As for the film's major stars, Shailene Woodley and Theo James gave their response to the burning question on whether they are ready for the fame. "It's completely impossible to answer. If you say anything, you sound like a douche bag because who knows what the f**k is going to happen?" actor Theo James, who portrays Four in the film, stated.
His co-star, Shailene Woodley, agreed. "It's something that hasn't happened yet. Anyway, change is inevitable. It happens every day. I'm not going to change my life at all - I love the way I live. I'm not going to worry about it," the actress, who portrays lead character Tris, explained.
According to Entertainment Weekly, their cover story on the "Divergent" film will have a "deep data dive" on whether the sales on the YA (young adult) books predict the ticket sales of the upcoming movie. Also included in the cover story are the inside design secrets on Four's full-back tattoo and the guide to the "Divergent" film cast and characters. Actress Shailene Woodley, 22, has revealed in the Mail Online report how she enjoyed filming the romantic scenes with her co-star Theo James despite having to do them a couple of times like the kissing scenes while filming. Ms Woodley admitted that her 29-year-old co-star Theo was a great kisser and further praised him as an "incredibly masculine man with a beautiful soulful heart."
Director Neil Burger claimed that there is an obvious chemistry between Shailene and Theo. "I saw it the first time they got in a room together," the film director explained, further adding that the magic between the two stars is let out like electricity.
"Divergent" is scheduled to hit the US movie theaters on March 21, 2014. Also starring in the film are Kate Winslet, Ashley Judd, Miles Teller, Tony Goldwyn, and Zoë Kravitz. According to IMDb, the release date in Australia is set on April 10, 2014.
