Actor Jesse Eisenberg is set to portray the villain character Lex Luthor in "Man of Steel 2" and make his onscreen performance in the upcoming Batman vs. Superman film unique. The 30-year-old "Now You See Me" star shared in the IGN interview that he is preparing for the role but the preparation does not include studying the past performances of the character both in film and television.

"It'll definitely be played by a different person, but I don't know really how different this - I don't know the history as well as the people making the movie, so I guess it's up to them to figure out how much they want to separate it from previous incarnations," Jesse Eisenberg revealed to IGN. Eisenberg added that he will be treating the portrayal of the character differently.

The actor explained that there is no way to portray the character's history that other actors have played in the past unless "some kind of wink" is done. "But that doesn't seem like a responsible way to act. So I will just do it as though it's a character," the actor explained.

The Oscar-nominated actor revealed in the Enstars report that the character of Lex Luthor drew him to portray the role. Jesse Eisenberg further admitted that the villain character is a really great role that has been written in the story really well.

When asked about if he will sport the signature bald look of Lex Luthor, Eisenberg did not reveal anything due to confidentiality. The Design & Trend report noted one rumour that suggested Lex Luthor could be an ex-street punk tattooed with the Metropolis skyline on his right arm.

Additionally, the movie sequel will feature the character's back story that includes the promotion to a street gang boss at the young age of 15. Jesse Eisenberg joins the "Man of Steel 2" stars such as British actor Henry Cavill (Superman/Clark Kent), Ben Affleck (Batman/Bruce Wayne), Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman/Diana Prince), Amy Adams (Lois Lane), Diane Lane (Martha Kent) and Jeremy Irons (Alfred Pennyworth).

"Man of Steel 2" or also known as the Batman vs. Superman film is scheduled to be released in movie theaters on May 6, 2016.
