News about the "Man of Steel 2" film just got interesting as two actresses expressed their interest to portray the character of Batman's adversary, Catwoman. Though the character has not yet been confirmed to be included in the upcoming Batman vs. Superman film, Eliza Dushku and Anne Hathaway revealed that they would love to be Selina Kyle on the big screen.

Anne Hathaway, who portrayed Catwoman in "The Dark Knight Rises" film, recently gave her reaction to MTV on reprising the role in a DC film like "Man of Steel 2" while promoting "Rio 2" together with Jesse Eisenberg. The 31-year-old actress stated in the Enstars report that no one has talked to her about it yet but she finds the opportunity to be "pretty cool."

Ms Hathaway also appeared to be open to the idea of a solo Catwoman film. Actor Jesse Eisenberg is set to portray the villain character, Lex Luthor, in the "Man of Steel 2" film and when MTV asked him who could win a Lex Luthor-Selina Kyle face-off, the 30-year-old "Now You See Me" star answered "We'll see" before explaining that the idea is entirely fictional and out of their hands.

Meanwhile, Anne Hathaway is not the only actress interested in the possibility of including Catwoman in the "Man of Steel 2" film. "Dollhouse" actress Eliza Dushku, 33, revealed to Comic Book that it will be a fun challenge for her to portray Catwoman on the big screen.

"I of course will keep my phone on and would scratch and claw at the chance to film her in live action form," Ms Dushku, who provided her voice to the character in the animated feature "Batman: Year One" shared in the Design & Trend report.

However, the report further noted the criticisms on casting Eliza Dushu opposite Ben Affleck who will portray Batman in the movie sequel and the Catwoman role not fitting into the "Man of Steel 2 film." The report read: "Considering Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) is already expected to be prominently featured. Throw in Henry Cavill's Superman, Affleck's Batman and Jesse Eisenberg's Lex Luthor, and things may get a little too crowded."

The other "Man of Steel 2" cast members include Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Laurence Fishburne as Perry White, Diane Lane as Martha Kent and Jeremy Irons as Bruce Wayne's butler Alfred Pennyworth. The film is scheduled to be released in movie theaters on May 6, 2016 even though recent rumours suggest the release date may be moved up to April 29 to steer clear of conflict with the "Captain America 3" film.
