Man United transfer: Club targets Southampton's Fraser Forster as replacement for David De Gea, Jose Mourinho on the move ahead of takeover
Manchester United are reportedly eyeing Southampton goalkeeper Fraser Forster as part of the club’s backup plan in case David De Gea leaves Old Trafford this summer.
Spanish media outlet Fichajes claimed United could swoop Forster from the Saints, with the English international’s future at St Mary’s Stadium in doubt. Forster, who has also been linked with Premier League rivals Chelsea, spent much of the season in the sidelines due to a knee injury, but is now ready for action as he is set to represent England in Euro 2016.
But United may actually be looking at Galatasaray’s Fernando Muslera as the De Gea’s possible replacement. Newspaper AMK claimed that the Uruguayan international is keen to leave the Turkish club, with Tottenham Hotspur as possible suitors, although the Cimbom have denied such reports, insisting no offers or negotiations have been made.

However, according to the Express, Galatasaray are willing to listen to offers for their star goalkeeper, with United looking for a possible swoop at a transfer fee amounting to £12 million (AU$22.5 million).
“He [Muslera] could go for as little as £12m as Gala look to cash in quickly on their star talent,” the report disclosed. “It is claimed they [Galatasaray] are willing to listen to offers for the star players in their squad.”
Muslera won three league titles during his stint in Turkey and made his debut for Uruguay in 2009, representing his country in the last two World Cups.
Meanwhile, Jose Mourinho, who is widely speculated to replace Louis Van Gaal at the end of the season, is reportedly planning transfer moves ahead of his take over at United, according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano.

Part of the Mourinho’s latest search for transfer targets is Hotspur striker Harry Kane, who could be priced at £60 million (AU$112.6 million), reports The Sun’s Toby Gannon. Kane has made 25 goals this season, which includes 22 appearances for the Premier League sides.
