Manchester United transfer: Guillermo Varela hints approval of Jose Mourinho as Red Devils boss; Zlatan Ibrahimovic set for huge deal
Manchester United defender Guillermo Varela may have hinted his approval of Jose Mourinho as the club’s new boss next season, according to the latest transfer rumours.
George Bellshaw of Metro reported that Varela has probably dropped a huge hint over Twitter that the Uruguayan international is hoping for Mourinho to take over at Old Trafford. Bellshaw noted Varela liking a tweet that was asking for the ex-Chelsea boss to be announced as the Red Devils’ new manager, which has sparked rumours among United fans.

There is no certainty that Varela’s semi-cryptic social media reaction backs Mourinho’s takeover of United, but recent reports have suggested that the Portuguese boss is poised to replace Louis Van Gaal this summer after a dismal season for the Red Devils.
United are also reportedly set to offer a huge deal for the service of Paris Saint-Germain striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic. According to Jeremy Cross of the Daily Star, Man Utd are ready to offer the Swede international a short-term deal worth £250,000-a-week (AU$470,134) for two years.
The Premier League sides have made Ibrahimovic one of their summer targets, with the PSG striker set to explore free agency once his contract with the French giants expires at the end of the season.
“The team needs a major injection of talent and some superstar addition,” a club source said, reports the Daily Star. “Zlatan fits the bill. He might be getting on a bit but he can still do it at the highest level and would be worth the risk in terms of big wages because no fee is involved.”
Meanwhile, Alvaro Morata is also listed as one of Mourinho’s target if he is appointed as United’s next manager. Morata have drawn interest from Premier League clubs including United, but Real Madrid are rumoured to be keen in activating a buy-back clause for the 23-year-old Spaniard, who has recorded six goals in 28 appearances with Juventus this season, reports Marca.
