Manny Pacquiao trainer Freddie Roach won’t forget the Mayweathers'— Floyd Jr. and Floyd Sr.— insinuations that his top ward’s knockout victories were primarily because of Alex Ariza, Pacquiao’s former strength and conditioning coach who is now part of The Money Team.

To prove to the both Mayweather the fighter and Mayweather the trainer that Pacquiao still has KO prowess, Roach wants the Filipino to put to send the undefeated American to the canvas for good to “shut the mouths” of the outspoken father and son duo.

According to an article from philboxing.com, Roach will be gunning for the KO victory on Nov. 23 in Macau “for sure” to silence the Mayweathers and disprove their claims that it was all Ariza.

The Mayweathers Have A Point

It has been five years since Pacquiao has sent an opponent down for the count; the last KO win was over Miguel Cotto on Nov. 11, 2009 when the Filipino won via technical knockout (TKO) in the 12th and final round of the World Boxing Organization (WBO) world welterweight title bout.

After the convincing victory over the Puerto Rican, Pacquiao went on to win four in a row but all came via 12-round decisions beating Joshua Clottey (March 13, 2010), Antonio Margarito (Nov. 13, 2010), Shane Mosley (May 7, 2011) Juan Manuel Marquez (Nov 12, 2011).

Pacquiao then suffered a split decision loss to Timothy Bradley on June 9, 2012 before falling to Marquez in their fourth match-up via an embarrassing knockout loss in the sixth round of a fight on Dec. 8, 2012. Pacquiao has since bounced back with unanimous decision victories over Brandon Rios (Nov. 24, 2013) and Bradley in their rematch on April 12, 2014.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. is apparently keeping tabs; Pacquiao has won six of his last eight bouts and none of Pacquiao’s wins came by way of KO.

Roach vs. Ariza Rift; Ariza’s Move to Team Mayweather

It is worth noting that Roach and Ariza has had some serious beef in the past. Particularly during the training camp before the Pacquiao vs. Rios fight in 2013. Ariza was caught in the video kicking Roach and even made fun of the latter’s Parkinson’s Disease.

In an interview with Roach in radio program in January 2014, Roach claimed that there was something suspicious with Ariza’s ways and that he doesn’t trust Pacquiao’s former strength and conditioning coach that’s why they chose to drop him from the Pacquiao camp.

In a move seen as curious by most boxing pundits, Ariza began working for Mayweather in September 2014 despite the past history between the two when Floyd Mayweather Jr. accused Manny Pacquiao of using performance-enhancing drugs when the Filipino was still under Ariza.

Freddie Roach’s wish for a knockout win by Manny Pacquiao over Chris Algieri will not only send a strong message to Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Sr. but also to the controversial Ariza.
