Manny Pacquiao has yet to pick an opponent in his comeback fight early next year in what could be the Filipino boxer’s farewell bout. Top Rank Promotions CEO Bob Arum has revealed a three-man list of possible opponents for Pacquiao, which includes Amir Khan, Terence Crawford and Timothy Bradley, but according to Pacquiao himself, he's still eyeing a rematch with retired and undefeated pound-for-pound king, Floyd Mayweather Jr.

In a video posted by FightHype.com taken from Pacquiao’s official Facebook page, the Filipino boxing icon can be seen saying that he has no idea who his next opponent will be. He then claims that his team is still in talks of a possible rematch against Mayweather Jr., who defeated the former eight-division titlist via split decision in May.

“I don’t know yet who’s my next opponent,” Pacquiao says in the video. “But we’re still negotiating right now about the rematch with Floyd Mayweather, so hoping for that.”

After an easy win in his last fight against Andre Berto, Mayweather declared his retirement from boxing last month and made it clear that he would not grant Pacquiao any rematch. However, according to Nick Giongco of the Manila Bulletin, talks of a Pacman-Floyd rematch could still materialise as the 20,000-seater MGM-AEG nears completion. Gionco also noted Freddie Roach claiming in recent interviews that Mayweather is planning on giving Pacquiao a rematch as a suitable follow-up in their megafight that generated more than $600 million in revenue.

Tim Fletcher of Boxing News 24 also believes a second Pacquiao-Mayweather bout could happen if the Filipino fighter would make the call personally to “Money.” Fletcher noted how Pacquiao accidentally bumped into Mayweather during an NBA game in Miami, where they exchanged mobile numbers and eventually started the deal for their superfight.

“It would be wise if Pacquiao made the call personally to Mayweather to try and put the fight together,” Fletcher said. “If Pacquiao leaves it up to Arum to try and make the fight, it’s quite possible that the fight won’t get made.”

However, according to Arum, Pacquiao is set to choose his next opponent by the end of next month, after the Miguel Cotto and Saul “Canelo” Alvarez clash. Arum told Boxing Scene that he and Pacquiao’s adviser, Michael Koncz, will visit the Philippines in November and make their decision about the Filipino’s final fight, which is slated on April 9, 2016.
