It's not only Manny Pacquiao memes that are spreading over social networking sites in different parts of the world. Even before the Pac Man's humiliating defeat to Mexican boxer Juan Manuel Marquez on Saturday, another Pacquiao had her own share of memes in the Philippines.

The humour-loving Filipinos saw in the mother-and-son pair from General Santos City a good target for comic relief because of their rags-to-riches story, their strong regional accents and forays into show business.

Manny's star has definitely rubbed off on his mother, Dionesia Pacquiao, more popularly known as Mommy D. When Manny rose to fame, people became interested in his background which led to media features on his personal life.

Dionesia was an instant hit because of the story of how she persevered in raising her children by selling peanuts and other food in General Santos. She initially shot to fame because of videos showing her praying each time Manny defended his different weight division titles as well as her fainting spells.

Eventually, more news about her came out every time Manny had a fight, which led to the public knowing her love for ballroom dancing.

She eventually recorded an album

and shot a movie with no less than deposed President Joseph Estrada playing the father-in-law of her son in a 2009 movie titled Ang Tanging Pamilya.

Along with Manny, she has also several commercials for a vinegar, gin and milk brands.

Her being media friendly led to parodies about her such as an MTV for the hit song Teach Me How to Dougie with Mr Bean

and a spoof of the winning moment of Miss Angola Leila Lopez as Miss Universe 2011.

She is not just a YouTube favourite, but also a Photoshop icon for spoofed movie posters like Twilight

or as sexy cover girl of a men's magazine

and even a Mexican soap opera.

Mommy D is now pushing Manny to retire from the boxing scene following his defeat in the hands of Marquez.

However, because of speculations of Manny hanging his boxing gloves forever, the latest meme is that Dionesia will take his place in a rematch with Marquez as seen in this poster.
