Maria Sharapova And Grigor Dimitrov Break Up News
The tennis' top couple Maria Sharapova and Grigor Dimitrov break up rumours are all over since Tennis Today reported that the two unfollowed each other on Twitter.
During the US Open in New York, the two did not speak of the other nor seen together anywhere, which is a bit of a surprise given the profile of both tennis superstars.
Back in the summer, the 27-year-old five-time Grand Slam champion hinted that she's going to play doubles with Dimitrov.
"I would probably not play a Grand Slam mixed doubles, even though he wants to," she told fans during the WTA's All-Access Hour. "But we'd have fun. We do in practice occasionally. But he's much better and I don't want to make myself look bad."
But that seemingly changed during the US Open in New York when she asked to be paired with John McEnroe and not her boyfriend, Dimitrov.
Although Sharapova and Dimitrov played on the same dates in New York, the two did not watch each other's match like they used to do in Wimbledon and Queen's event. The two lost in the fourth round of the tournament, Dimitrov to Gael Monfils on September 2 and Sharapova to Caroline Wozniacki on August 31.
After the two flunked out of the US Open they chose to spend time apart. Sharapova took to Twitter to post a photo on Twitter that she was spending the weekend alone while Dimitrov posted another photo on Instagram with a caption that says he wanted to "focus on the big picture."
Earlier this year, the rumoured engaged couple posted a number of photos on Instagram and Twitter but as they failed to do well at the US Open, Rogers Cup and Wimbledon, the social media photos got scarce. Thus far, it appears that their most recent social media photos show that they are apparently spending time apart.
