Sharing her thoughts after her much-publicized split from husband of 25 years, TV journalist, Maria Shriver has tweeted how she has been affected by the separation.

In a message posted on her Twitter Friday, Shriver shared how the fans had made her feel following the official announcement of the couple’s split early last week.

"Thank you for all the kindness, support and compassion," Shriver tweeted on her Twitter addressing fans on Friday. "I am humbled by the love. Thank you."

People Magazine noted that this is the first time for Shriver, 55 to make a public comment after leaving Schwarzenegger, 63. The former governor addressed the issue a day after it made headlines last week.

"We're extremely blessed to be surrounded by so many wonderful people [and] by so many wonderful friends," the Terminator was quoted as saying by People.magazine.
