"Friends With Benefits" actress Mila Kunis was left shocked after being interrupted by an audience member at the 2012 MTV Movie Awards last Sunday. Luckily, Mark Wahlberg was ready to jump on her defense.

Wahlberg and Kunis were the first guest presenters to step onstage at the Los Angeles event to read out the nominations for the "Best On-Screen Dirtbag Award" which was the first award to be given that night. However, Mila was left taken aback when she was rudely interrupted when a man in the audience shouted at her.

The man's jeers were inaudible for many in the Gibson Amphitheatre and the viewers watching at home. According to reports, it had something to do with her weight. Much has been made in recent weeks of Mila's weight gain after her role in the film "Black Swan" when she dropped to an alarmingly low weight in order for her to portray Natalie Portman's dancing nemesis.

Kunis was clearly annoyed at having been heckled. Wahlberg, a man never to be messed with, stepped in. "Excuse me," he said. Unsure of what the man had exactly yelled, he turned to Kunis. "What'd he say?" Wahlberg asked Kunis.

Although the actress was stunned with the interruption, Kunis just brushed off the incident and encouraged the tough-guy Wahlberg to go ahead and continue with their presenting duties by saying that what happened does not matter.

It is a good thing she did attempt to hold-off Wahlberg since the actor seemed ready to defend his co-star by calling out to the man in the audience and said something that was bleeped out by the censors.

"And here I thought I was gonna have to slap Russell," Wahlberg joked about host Russell Brand's famously biting humor. Then, Wahlberg and Kunis moved on to present the "Best On-Screen Dirtbag" prize to Jennifer Aniston for her performance as a harassing dentist in "Horrible Bosses."

When "MTV News" caught up with Wahlberg backstage, the actor explained the situation from his perspective. "When I came onstage, some random heckler in the crowd said something vulgar to Mila. So that's why I got a little upset," he shared. Afterwards, Wahlberg said that he was feeling forgiving and was going to let it slide this time.
