'Married At First Sight Australia' finale: Nicole decides to stay with Keller
Episode seven of “Married At First Sight” saw Keller putting his relationship at a risk, which forced his wife, Nicole, to pack her bags and leave. It was quite nerve-wracking to wait for what decision Nicole takes on the finale episode.
This season of “Married At First Sight” is the most successful yet. The season finale of the TV experiment resulted in the show’s expert panel getting it right with three out of five couples. The show’s first gay couple, Andy and Craig, and Dave and Jess already called it quits during their honeymoons. While the remaining three couples all agreed to continue their experimental marriages off-camera.
The finale episode had its fair share of drama, leaving Nicole and Keller’s nail-biting decision right until the end. This sent the show straight to the top of Twitter’s trending topics.
Keller was nervous over how things ended with Nicole and was scared as to what the outcome would be. “There’s been some challenges that’ve been thrown at us recently that put some doubts in my mind,” Nicole told Keller. She continued to tell Keller she questioned whether or not she could trust him after he started not one, but two rows of drinking.
She told Keller about the doubts she has had recently and that he had really let her down. “And I’m sorry but... you’re gonna have to put up with me with a little bit longer,” Nicole said, taking the audience by surprise.
Keller had earlier told the show’s matchmakers that he has a tendency to push everything away in his life when everything is going right so he doesn’t get hurt. “That’s my coping mechanism. If I destroy myself then she’ll feel good about leaving me,” he said.
After school teacher Nicole said she wanted to stay with him, Keller promised to make the most of his second chance. Brisbane native Keller has since moved to the Gold Coast to be with Nicole and now commutes to Brisbane for his new job as a youth worker.
