'Marvel: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' season 3 episode 12 recap: The team faces off with the Absorbing Man
In Season 3 Episode 12 of “Marvel: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,” the team met the Absorbing Man. Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) and General Talbot (Adrian Pasdar) had to work together towards a common goal.
The episode started with a flashback showing Phil Coulson crushing Grant Ward’s (Brett Dalton) chest. The Hive then entered Ward and his life flashed by.
The scene moved to the present, where the Hive regretted not meeting Ward in another way. Malick (Powers Boothe) brought Lucio in who had the ability to paralyse with just his eyes. Lucio disabled the Hydra men with just his eyes, but Hive was immune. The powerful Inhuman forwarded a sand ghost into Lucio.
Glenn Talbot and Coulson were forced to work together despite their differences. The team also prepared to cover Coulson during the symposium that he and Talbot were attending. Later, the team spotted the Absorbing Man tailing Coulson and Talbot. A battle followed, showing how the Absorbing Man could absorb the properties of objects to have the same characteristics and be immune to certain attacks. S.H.I.E.L.D. managed to overpower the Inhuman and interrogated him. Talbot claimed that he asked the Absorbing Man to be with him at the symposium for protection.
The team later discovered that the Absorbing Man/Creel’s blood functions like a vaccine against terrigenesis.
Later, Hunter (Nick Blood) found an ATCU gel containment unit with someone inside. He believed that it was Talbot’s son. At the symposium, Talbot suddenly blew Coulson’s cover. Malick also announced that Coulson is the director of Hydra. Coulson was seized and Talbot asked for his son back in exchange. However, Malick also took Talbot captive.
The team arrived with the Absorbing Man and were able to take out Malick’s men to save Coulson, Talbot and Talbot’s son.
The last few scenes showed Hive looking more whole. He previously consumed five humans that were delivered to him.
Malick was also featured on a plane with Anton Petrov. They made a toast to have a safe place for all Inhumans. Under them were Bobbi (Adrianne Palicki) and Hunter, who stowed away.
“Marvel: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” will air next on ABC on Mar. 22 titled “Parting Shot.”
