At the start of Season 3 Episode 13 of “Marvel: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,” Bobbi (Adrianne Palicki) was in the custody of an Interpol Black Site in Moscow, Russia. She was being questioned about three Russian government members who were murdered by former S.H.I.E.L.D. agents. She was also asked what she was doing in Siberia, but she did not answer.

[Spoiler alert]

Hunter (Nick Blood) was also being questioned in another room. He said that they were on vacation. The men later took him away to be executed, claiming that he was one of the killers they were looking for.

Bobbi looked back to 34 hours before. She was with Hunter running in the snow, marking Malick’s (Powers Boothe) convoy so that the team can follow it. Later, they were spotted by the guards. They fought their way through Malick's men and overheard that the Cabinet Ministers in Russia are coming. Shortly after, Coulson (Clark Gregg) discovered that Malick is preparing to stage a coup.

Coulson believed that Malick is either setting up shop or recruiting more Inhumans to join his army. He tasked the pair to know what Malick’s plans are, but warned not to kill him to avoid international repercussions.

The team arrived and prepared to rescue Lance, interrupting Malick’s plans. Coulson realized that the Prime Minister was at the power plant and ordered the team to protect him. The general attacked the team using his shadow creature. This character is another dark entity that can shift its density at will, as shown by its ability to pass through walls and adapt to any material. Bobbi shot the general and she and Hunter were taken to the interrogation room.

President Ellis (William Sadler) talked to the Prime Minister, denying that S.H.I.E.L.D. exists and that he should be thankful to the people who rescued him and stopped an impending coup. Bobbi and Hunter were set free afterwards, with the condition that they can never work as agents again.

Back on the Zephyr, Coulson explained to the team that he had to release Bobbi and Hunter. Russia cannot know that the agency was at work and training Inhumans as agents. Otherwise, a second Cold War could result.

The final scene showed Bobbi and Hunter at a bar. Several drinks were handed to them from various members of S.H.I.E.L.D. According to Bobbi, it was a spy’s farewell. Coulson raised a toast and the team exited.

The end of the episode was a tearjerker, and could be a way to set up the adventures of the two together, without the help of their former team. IGN notes that it could be the start of “Marvel’s Most Wanted.”
