Commencement speeches are supposed to be drab and boring. Maya Rudolf brought the roof down with her hysterically funny commencement speech at Tulane University. The comedian delighted the crowd with her “Beyonce” inspired national anthem and “Oprah Winfrey” impersonation.

Rudolf peppered her speech with sage advice and comic impersonations to create a gem of a speech. According to Huffington post, Rudolf advised the new graduates to “say ‘Yes’ and!” “Create Your own Destiny, Hold onto your friends, Kiss your Mama… Don't beat yourself up if you don't know what you're gonna do tomorrow… put away your damn iPhone once in a while,” she told. In the characteristic Rudolf way, she congratulated the graduates on “this exciting and challenging journey of being sober during the day."

There was also an Oprah moment when she asked the class of 2015 to look under the seats. “You get a diploma and you get a diploma… we’re all getting diplomas,” she gushed eliciting loud laughter from the crowd. The icing on the cake was her Beyoncé inspired rendition of the national anthem. The over-the-top version of “The Star Spangled Banner” mashed with “Take Me out to the ball game” was pure gold. Her animated rendition has taken the internet by storm.

According to ET Online, Rudolf also laid bare her struggles and recalled telling her dad, a fellow Tulane about her dream on being Saturday Night Live. On a sweet note she gave a shout out to her cousin Sabrina who was graduating the very same day. But one of her best advice to all the graduates was to take as many bikini photos they can take at 21 as their bodies were “smokin’ hot.”

Maya Rudolf is one of the sought out comic stars staring on Saturday Night Live from 2000 to 2007. Her funny but inspiring address broke out from the routine speech style to give a great moment of pure unadulterated hilarity.
