Meet the 24 Tributes to Battle in ‘The Hunger Games’
"The Hunger Games" has the potential to be the next Harry Potter/Twilight/Lord of the Rings movie franchise. The trailer of the much-awaited film was released. Now, it is time to meet the 24 tributes from the 12 Districts of the city of Panem.
Lionsgate productions told director Gary Ross and marked March 23, 2012 as "The Hunger Games'" release date. Just the right time before spring break and Easter. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Suzanne Collins' young adult bestseller 'The Hunger Games,' the first book in a trilogy about youngsters in a post-Apocalyptic America.
The book has sold 3.3 million copies in the U.S. with foreign rights sold in 41 countries.

"The Hunger Games" trilogy of Suzanne Collins was also published by Scholastica, which is the home of J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter series.
"The Hunger Games" was quickly followed by "Catching Fire" and "Mockingjay." The novel follows the story set in a not-so-distant future when the United States of America collapsed and was replaced byPanem, a country that was divided into the Capitol and 12 other districts.
In order to keep the citizens of Panem entertained, two young representatives from each district are selected by lottery to participate in the brutal Hunger Games each year, which will be broadcasted throughout the country for all the citizens to watch.
he first book follows the representatives of District 12, Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark, as they join the battle of the futuristic reality show.
