Meghan Trainor Advises Fans To Keep Away From Social Media And YouTube Comments
Meghan Trainor promises to her Asian fans that she would release more inspirational songs in her upcoming album. She also asked her fans to stop reading online media comments because they are not helpful in building a positive self image.
During a media conference ahead of her first Singapore concert on Thursday, April 23, Meghan Trainor has one advice to those in attendance. According to her, people should not pay that much attention to online and social media comments. For her, this is one of the methods to become more confident in this modern age. For her, it would become too difficult to build a positive self-image and be comfortable with ones’ bodies if a person would be affected by social media too much. She said social media can hurt. She said she felt “a lot happier” after deciding not to read YouTube comments anymore. She added that most of the comments about her are “outrageous.” Trainor believes that online trolls can say harsh things, especially to kids, because of their anonymity.
Her inspirational advices as well as songs about female empowerment are the main reasons why she was hailed one of the People Magazine’s Top "10 Most Beautiful Women" for 2015.
On the same conference, she also said that women should be the first to embrace themselves and believe they are beautiful. “I also noticed speaking out loud saying ‘I look beautiful today’ helps significantly because then you start really believing it. So every time I am in the mirror I am like ‘Mmm I look great today!’ It helps a lot,” the “All About That Bass” singer said.
She also shared to her fans her happiness that some parents are approaching her and thanking her for positively influencing their daughters. Some even said that she saved some girls from suicide and depression. As such, she will make sure her upcoming album would include a lot more “inspirational songs.”
On a recent interview with Marie Claire magazine, Trainor further gave her fans the chance to know more about her. She said she is confident about her bowling skills and her perfect date was when a boy took her bowling. She said the fun sport was her family’s bonding activity.
