Michelle Obama: ‘Prince George innocently exposed Prince Harry’s real behaviour’
US First Lady Michelle Obama has recalled how Prince George left Prince Harry embarrassed during a dinner meeting. The young British prince innocently exposed his uncle’s real behaviour while US President Barack Obama and the first lady were dining at Kensington Palace last month.
In a joint interview with ABC News, Harry and the First Lady of the United States (FLOTUS) talked about 2016 Invictus Games, which opened in Orlando, Florida, in the US on Sunday. Recalling meeting little George, Obama revealed an incident in which the third in line to the UK throne outed Prince Harry’s real behaviour when they didn’t have guests.
“The most precious thing, if you haven’t already fallen in love with him, is to see him with his nephew,” Obama said, referring to Harry and George while the Obamas were at the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s apartments at the Kensington Palace in April.
“All throughout the evening, he said, ‘Uncle Harry, why are you so quiet? Why are you so quite?’ And I was like, ‘He wasn’t quiet,’” Obama said of the 2-year-old future king. “He didn’t understand what was wrong with you,” she told Harry.
Harry explained that he was on his “best behaviour” that night. “I’m normally throwing him around the room and stuff,” he said, explaining why George thought his uncle’s behaviour was peculiar.
“He’s a pretty good uncle,” the first lady concluded.
The US first lady and the British prince also talked about the viral video in which Harry’s grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, helped him answer the Obamas’ Invictus Games challenge. In the original video, the Obamas issued a challenge to Harry to “bring it” at the games. Harry responded in kind, asking his grandma for help in delivering his own challenge and subsequently “dropping the mic” on the Obamas.

“Mrs Obama came to us with the challenge and I didn’t know what to do,” Harry recounted. “She dragged her husband into it, and he happened to be the president. Slightly awkward.”
The US president had previously told Harry that if he could get the Queen to do the challenge, then Harry can “drop the mic.”
“I didn’t want to ask the Queen because I didn’t want to back her into a corner,” Harry said, “but when I showed her the video and told her, she was like, ‘Right, what do we need to do? Let’s do this.’”
The Invictus Games are an international multi-sport event created by Prince Harry in 2014 for wounded soldiers and veterans. There are 13 countries participating in the event, including Australia, Canada and New Zealand.
