Microsoft has cut the prices of the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL handsets specific to Australia. The Lumia 550, on the other hand, will hit store shelves sometime in December. Here’s a summary of the release and price details about the new handsets.

Microsoft Lumia 950: Price, Release Date

The Lumia 950 can be preordered from the official Microsoft Store now. This unlocked device will set the buyers back by $999 in Australia.

Microsoft says ordered devices will be shipped starting Dec. 8 onwards. Windows Central, meanwhile, noted the new Lumia handset’s price has been slashed significantly. The original price used to be $1,099.

Spec-wise, the handset features a 5.2-inch Amoled display, 1,440 x 2,560 pixels resolution and Gorilla Glass 3 protection. Under the hood, it comes powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 SoC, Windows 10 and backed by a solid 3 GB of RAM.

The phone comes equipped with 32 GB of native storage, microSD card support, a 20 MP primary camera and a Li-Ion 3,000 mAh battery cell on board.

The bigger sibling Lumia 950 XL can also be bought directly from the online Microsoft Store. The tech titan has listed the price as $1,129, specific to Australia. Similar to the flagship, the price of this handset has also been cut from the original $1,199, according to Windows Central.

As for specs, the smartphone comes with a 5.7-inch Amoled display, 1,440 x 2,560 pixels resolution and Gorilla Glass 4 protection. The device is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 SoC, Windows 10 and backed by 3 GB of RAM. It comes equipped with 32 GB of built-in storage space, microSD card support for expansion, 20 MP main camera and Li-Ion 3,340 mAh battery unit.

Microsoft Lumia 550: Price, Release Date

Marketed as the wallet-friendly device, the Lumia 550 powered by Windows 10 Mobile will hit store shelves in Australia shortly, and the official Website says “Coming Soon.” Even though the Australia-specific price is unavailable at this point, the 8 GB model of the Lumia 550 will cost US$139 (AU$195), according to CNet. The release date has been tipped as December.

Spec-wise, the device sports a 4.7-inch display and 720 x 1,280 pixels resolution. It comes powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 SoC and backed by a modest 1 GB of RAM. A good-enough 8 GB native storage space with microSD card support, a 5 MP main camera and a Li-Ion 2,100 mAh battery complete this incredible mid-range device.
