Microsoft Surface 3 With 4G LTE Connectivity To Launch Soon
In an Ask Me Anything (AKA) conversation on Reddit, members of the Microsoft Surface team hinted that the Redmond giant could be working to release an unlocked version of the new Surface 3 tablet with support for LTE connectivity. Microsoft has already launched the Surface 3 with support for Wi-Fi connectivity and now fresh information indicates that it will roll out LTE edition soon.
The fans got an opportunity to ask all kinds of questions to the team through AMA on Reddit about the tablet device. According to members of the Surface team, they said in the conservation that they are doing an unlocked LTE version. This was in response to a question that had been posed by a Reddit user, agaikwad2008, reports Slash Gear.
Although the team did not mention when the unlocked version will be made available, they said that they listen to the users and they plan to have it in many markets. So, users should stay tuned. The user who posted this question to the Microsoft Surface team said that he had been looking forward to have a full Windows tablet that features unlocked 3G/4G/LTE for the last 4 years but couldn’t find any.
Upon getting the positive news from the Surface team, the user replied that hopefully, he or she waits to buy one in the US market, at least. This news comes only a few days after Microsoft announced that it was planning to have Surface 3 with 4G LTE available in U.S. through the carriers Verizon and T-Mobile, sometime in 2015.
However, Microsoft public relations have not yet made any official comment in response to the conversation and the hints that were revealed by the Surface 3 team. The team also did not mention which markets the unlocked version would be available or when it could be released. In the AMA conservation, it also touched something to do with the rumored Surface Pro 4 but the team simply said nothing.
Microsoft has already listed the Wi-Fi only model with storage options 64 GB and 128 GB GB for preorders on Microsoft Store. They price at $499 and $599, respectively. It also listed the Wi-Fi + 4G LTE variants with 64 GB and 128 GB storage options but their pricing has not been revealed yet.
