Microsoft’s iPad Trade-In Offers $200 Discount on Surface
Software giant Microsoft is offering $200 discount on Surface tablet and laptop to consumers who will trade their old iPads.
iPad users can bring their used iPad 2, 3, or 4 and get a minimum of a $200 gift card to the Microsoft store, which they can use in buying a new Microsoft Surface tablet and laptop. Traders can purchase the Surface RT which costs $349or Surface Pro $799.
To be eligible for the trade-in, iPads should include power cord, if available, and device is not password protected.
This promo runs until October 27 and is available in selected Microsoft retail stores in US and Canada.
Microsoft has sent out its own invitations to the press for the unveiling of new Surface Pro products. The press event was slated on September 23 in New York City.
Microsoft is expected to announce the successors of Surface Pro and Surface RT tablets dubbed as Surface Pro 2 and Surface 2. Both have seen numerous leaks lately with the Surface Pro 2 rumored to be Haswell-based and the Surface 2, Tegra-based.
According to DigiTimes, the new Surface tablets will have 7-inch and 9-inch screen displays. Rumours claimed that the devices will be powered by Intel processors with reports citing that the tablet to include Intel Core i5. Surface Pro 2 and Surface Mini will run with the updated version of Windows OS. The devices will also sport internal storage of up to 128 GB.
The Surface tablets will most likely have an October launch. Reports said that Windows 8.1 will be available to existing Windows 8 users for free in an update Oct. 17, and available the next day to buy meaning October is the month for Microsoft.
However, Microsoft released no comment on the rumours. Thus, consumers will have to wait and see on the release date of the devices.
